Mock Final Pieces
The mock final pieces were created for two purposes, firstly to give an insight of how long it would take which would essentially help me prepare for exam. Secondly , since I want to create a variety of pieces and combine it in one big piece, layout and presentation is vitally important especially when trying to execute this concept of isolation. What I was trying to go for his how to show this concept of isolation in ‘unusual portraiture’, and I believe I have shown this through these mock ups. Very early in the project I wanted to explore posed and formal portraiture, posed portraiture is all about the communication between photographer and the subject about the body position and expression, whereas formal portraiture is about the communication between photographer and the subject regarding clothing, location, style and mood. Looking at ‘Mock up 1’ and ‘Mock up 2’ in every shot the subject is looking straight at you, this is where the posed element is introduced. I tried to bring a personal engaging feeling, the formal element is introduced when I am trying to express the mood or certain agenda. For example, in ‘mock up 2’, the words ‘this is me’ can be seen in the middle image, as the photographer I'm trying to infuse a message of what the subject is thinking while in this isolated atmosphere.
