Fear Series
These final pieces were created by using some of the traits of Jeffries and Rainer which they use predominantly in there pieces. For example, I noticed that Jeffries uses composition in quite a synonymous way to Rainer. The close up of the face captures features of different types of emotions. It is a technique to attract the audience. Rainer concentrates on texture. The smooth organic style grabbed my attention straight away when viewing his pieces. For this reason I tried to create my own organic style. Jefferies used light to create a three dimensional image. I used the same technique by using the dodge and burn tool.
Rainer uses a very elegant style, intertwining the photography and paint to get an extremely passionate expressive piece. Rainer's impact on my work, comes from the emotion of each character in his pieces. They all have a different facial expression. Each character has their own persona. In my final pieces I believe I need to create this same elegance, straight away making the character unique. Light is a key element in all the photographers work. When researching my final pieces are based on the topic 'Fear' and the character I portray in my photography reflects on this topic. I believe I have created adequate pieces which reflect on Rainer and Jeffries work.

Emotions Of A CHILD series
Veritas Vos Liberabit
‘Veritas Vos Liberabit’, is the latin phrase for ‘the truth shall make you free’ and I truly believe this is the perfect name for my final piece. My final piece is based on what we perceive to be reality that we are actually in emptiness, like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole. Children are brought up in a world so geared that they will evolve to believe whatever there environment captures. The piece is broke into two fundamental parts, the first is based on this concept of what we believe is truth. I brought a white frame and the image in the frame, is done in a realist approach using natural colours. This emphasise that nature is actually an illusion, the child in the piece illustrates that we evolution has been replaced with conformity. The second part is outside the frame, with an explosion of colour with the face of the child undeveloped, like it hasn’t grown. I tried to emphasise that we can never escape because with cannot simply stop conforming to society, the piece is rather philosophical. Mahatama Gandhi once said ‘you must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.’ The piece complies beautifully with this quote, that people are products of there environment, they must not lose faith in humanity.
FEARFUL EMOTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
‘Scream’ defined by give a long, loud, piercing cry or cries expressing extreme emotion or pain. This pop expressionist style is extremely unique, the emotion is implemented by the way light is used. Emotion withering in each wave reminded me of the harsh reality we see in every day life. Why does it remind me of everyday life? It is the extent of emotion we see every day in streets, schools, homes, it is the emotion that creates a being for to have an emotion is to truly live. The piece illustrates the cry or a pain lurking in this person’s life, the way the paint has been used i.e. thickly, shows the concept of the strength of the being. The style was conducted after researching Russ Mills, his expressionist style is particularly intriguing, the way he uses colour to resemble his emotion is fantastic. My piece is severely built up on line; I believe line is what gives an image depth. ‘Scream’ fixates on this person, who may be screaming in agony or in some kind of anger; the high lights of colour are used for the confusion I set to the audience. Blue is more of a calming colour, there fore this is contradicting the whole point of the piece, nevertheless I may be using this technique to confuse the audience on a psychological level. The problems I found with this piece, it is hard to actually confuse someone on what actually is going on, therefore for my next piece I want to make is psychologically exhilarating.
Mills concentrates on how he paints, the way he paints in particular pieces is the way he feels and the emotions are all brought out through his expressive style. The moral behind my piece was to show the psychological struggle through life, and how you can come to grips with humanity and be free. I am extremely pleased with my outcome, the style was ugly, if I made is smooth and beautiful it would contradict my moral, therefore by making it horrific, it created a mood/atmosphere that was impossible for the audience to ignore.
